Rhinebeck Events and Tours Car Service

A local driver for fairground weekends, campus performances, village dinners and full days out across the Hudson Valley — booked in advance, quoted in writing, and timed around the event rather than the meter.

24/7 by advance reservation. Quotes are answered by a person, not an automated fare screen.

Which Rhinebeck events do people book a car for?

Most local bookings cluster around the Dutchess County Fairgrounds, the Bard College campus, village dining and seasonal weekends when Route 9 and village parking are at their worst.

The fairgrounds on Route 9 host the county fair in late summer and a well-known sheep and wool weekend in autumn, along with antique shows and craft markets through the year. On those days the approach roads slow to a crawl and the lots fill long before the gates are busy, which is exactly when being dropped at the entrance is worth more than the fare.

Bard College, a few minutes north in Annandale-on-Hudson, draws audiences to the Fisher Center and families to campus weekends and commencement. Village nights out — a table on East Market Street, a film at the cinema on the corner, a hotel bar afterwards — are the other steady reason to leave the car at home.

Dates, hours and tickets for all of these belong to the organisations that run them. Check their own schedules, then send us the times you are holding.

What does a Hudson Valley tour day look like?

A car and chauffeur held for the day and used as directed, moving your group between the historic houses, museums, farms and river towns you choose.

A comfortable day is three or four stops. Distances here mislead — properties that look adjacent on a map can be forty minutes apart on river roads, and a tour of a historic house rarely ends when you expect it to. Ordering the stops geographically is what keeps the day unhurried.

Common anchors are the presidential home and library at Hyde Park, the Vanderbilt estate above the river, the Culinary Institute of America for lunch, the Walkway Over the Hudson at Poughkeepsie, and Warren Street in Hudson for an afternoon of galleries and antiques. Aerodrome air shows and orchard weekends draw their own crowds in season.

Tickets, tastings and table reservations stay in your hands. Send the confirmed times and the driving plan is built to match them.

How does the booking work?

Send the event or itinerary, the date and times, the pickup address and the head count; you receive a written quote with the vehicle and total before anything is held.

  • Event name and venue, or the stops you have in mind
  • Date, start time and expected finish
  • Pickup address, and whether the group is split across addresses
  • Number of passengers and any luggage or gear
  • Whether the car should wait between stops or return later
  • Whether you want a quote per transfer, by the hour, or for the whole day

Why use a local driver for these dates?

Because the difficulty on event days is never the distance — it is the approach, the parking and the exit.

A driver who knows which fairground gate moves fastest, where a car can legally wait on a village street, and how long the Route 9 backup really lasts saves more time than any shortcut on a phone. On peak weekends, a car that is already positioned when you walk out matters more than the make of the vehicle.

Nothing on this page is dispatched on demand. Every ride is a reservation made ahead of time, which is what makes an agreed pickup point and time possible in the first place.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you drive to events at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds?
Yes. The fairgrounds sit on Route 9 just north of Rhinebeck village, and fairground weekends are among the busiest dates of the local year. Traffic backs up on Route 9 in both directions and on-site parking fills early, so being dropped at the gate and collected at an agreed spot avoids the worst of it. Reserve early for those weekends — they book out.
Can you collect us after a performance at Bard?
Yes. The Fisher Center and the wider Bard campus in Annandale-on-Hudson are a short drive from the village. Give the performance end time when you book and a pickup point on campus; if the programme runs long, call or text and the driver waits.
Do you offer sightseeing tours of the Hudson Valley?
We provide the car and chauffeur for the day, used as directed — not guided commentary. You choose the houses, museums, farms or river towns you want to see, and the driving plan is built around your reservations. Admission and tickets are arranged by you, directly with each venue.
How is an event or tour day priced?
Event drop-off and collection can be quoted as two separate transfers, or as an hourly booking if you want the car held between them. Full days are quoted at the as-directed hourly rate or the flat day rate. Every option is stated in writing before anything is confirmed.
Can you take a group to the same event?
Yes. Sedans suit couples, SUVs suit families with gear, and a Sprinter carries a larger group together so everyone arrives and leaves at once. Tell us the head count when you send the request.
Are you affiliated with any of these venues?
No. The places named on this page are independent organisations we drive guests to; we hold no partnership, discount or preferential access with any of them. Check their own published schedules for dates, hours and tickets.
How far ahead should we book an event date?
As far ahead as you can for fair weekends, graduation, Sinterklaas and peak autumn Saturdays — those dates fill first. Quieter weekdays often work with a few days' notice, but every trip is scheduled in advance rather than hailed on demand.
