Fleet and Vehicle Categories

Vehicles are booked by category rather than by badge, so the car that arrives is chosen for your passengers, your luggage and the roads you are travelling on.

24/7 by advance reservation. Quotes are answered by a person, not an automated fare screen.

How are vehicles assigned?

By the category you book — sedan, SUV or van — matched to the passenger count, luggage and conditions on the day.

Your written confirmation states the category reserved for you. Specific makes and models are not promised on this website, because promising a particular car and then substituting it is exactly the sort of thing that spoils a trip.

Winter in the Hudson Valley is a genuine factor. On snowy days an SUV is often the better choice for hill roads and unploughed driveways, and that is discussed with you rather than decided silently.

What are the categories?

Three: executive sedan, luxury SUV and passenger van.

  • Executive Sedan

    Up to 3 passengers

    About 2–3 standard bags

Airport runs, Rhinecliff pickups and business travel for one to three people.

  • Luxury SUV

    Up to 6 passengers

    About 4–6 standard bags

Families, ski and golf gear, winter road conditions and heavier luggage.

  • Passenger Van

    Larger groups

    Group luggage

Wedding parties, corporate groups and winery days travelling together.

What should I consider beyond seat count?

Luggage volume, the length of the journey, child seats, mobility needs and the weather.

  • Checked bags for international travel take more space than carry-ons
  • A long drive is more comfortable in an SUV for four or more people
  • Child seats occupy a full seat position each
  • Step height matters for passengers with limited mobility
  • Snow and rural driveways favour an SUV in winter

How do I request a category?

Choose a vehicle preference in the quote form, or describe the group and let the right category be suggested with your quote.

There is no penalty for being unsure. Describe who is travelling and what they are bringing, and the recommendation comes back with the price.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Which vehicle should I book?
Start with passengers and luggage. One to three people with normal bags fit a sedan comfortably; four or more, or a lot of luggage, calls for an SUV; larger groups travelling together are better served by a van or more than one vehicle.
Can I request a specific vehicle?
You can request a category — sedan, SUV or van — and that is what appears on your written confirmation. Specific models are not guaranteed unless confirmed to you in writing.
Do you provide child seats?
Child seat requests are taken with the booking. Include the child's age so the correct seat type is arranged, and confirm it appears on your written confirmation before you travel.
Is there room for skis, golf clubs or a stroller?
Yes, with the right vehicle. Mention oversized items when you request the quote so an SUV is assigned rather than a sedan that technically seats everyone but cannot carry the gear.
Are the vehicles cleaned between trips?
Yes. Every vehicle is cleaned and checked before it is sent out for a reservation.
